"From Alley to Ally" by Kasper Forest
Date
13 June - 12 July 2026
Multi-sensory exhibition of photography, installation, and lighting
Co-curated by Chan Sai Lok @chansailok and Zoe Chan
The back of Corner Shop opens onto a network of narrow, layered alleys—spaces that have quietly shaped Kasper Forest’s practice over the past nine years. Drawn to their density and understated vitality, Forest moves through these shadowed environments with a camera and an orange spotlight, bringing into view moments that might otherwise remain unseen.
Rooted in street photography, Kasper Forest’s work traces an evolving relationship with the LGBTQ+ community. What began from an outsider’s perspective gradually developed into connection, trust, and shared understanding. Many of those first encountered through the lens have since become close companions, whose openness and stories have deeply informed the artist’s path.
Bringing together street scenes and portraits of community members, the exhibition reflects a process of growth shaped by dialogue and mutual acceptance—where the boundary between outsider and insider quietly dissolves.
